Green Home Building and Sustainable Architecture

Sustainable architecture is an exciting and important field, with many people reviving traditional methods of building and others creating innovations to established practices. Kelly Hart, webmaster of the popular website www.greenhomebuilding.com, posts text and photos featuring what he discovers from around the world.

California Sustainable Healthy Home Waiver

There is a concerted effort by several folks in California to introduce a Ballot Initiative for a "Sustainable Healthy Home Waiver", which would make legal many of the building practices and technologies that are currently either being frowned upon or neglected by the building codes enforced throughout the state. They are now in the process of drafting this Initiative and are soliciting support and feedback from anyone who is interested in the issue. I have offered to review their efforts, and applaud them for doing this. A draft of their initial campaign framework can be read at http://greenhomebuilding.com/pdf/CSHHW.pdf, where contact information to communicate witht them can also be found.
